In this mini-project, we learned how to incorporate the Design Thinking Methodologies into an art project. The Design Thinking Methodologies are empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test, and revise.
Reflection:
In this 90 minute crash course, I learned how to incorporate the Design Thinking process into small activities. The Design Thinking Process is empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test, and revise. Empathizing is to understand the problem and share feelings toward it. Defining is deciding what needs to change in order to make others happier with a product. Ideate is thinking out loud about what we could do to fix a problem. Prototyping is actually forming all those ideas into one design. Testing to make sure it works to solve the problem. Revising is making it better based on what problems you saw while testing. This process is used constantly, but is often forgotten.
I really enjoyed watching the crash course and participating because it taught me how to incorporate this genius methodologies to everyday projects. I worked alone, but got to see the value of having partners so you can generate more ideas. This reminded me of how helpful this process is and how much I need to use it in my daily life. After watching this video I will be taking what I’ve learned and applying it to my future projects and life.
