Process:
To create my final product I started by reviewing all of my other benchmarks and choosing which I wanted to use. I then took my favorite movement and applied it to a character (Triangle in quadrant 1). I then copied that code onto four more triangles and placed them at different points in quadrant 1. After creating my triangles in quadrant 1 I moved on to transferring my turtle from (20, 0) to (20, 20). After I had completed quadrant 1 I copied each code onto the rest of the quadrants so each reflected quadrant 1. I then became concerned about whether or not my space land had enough color to it. I asked a few people for critique and found they all concurred. So I decided to add a colorful spiral. I entered the code and reviewed the results finally content with my work.
Reflection:
The Habit Of A Mathematician I focused on during this project was looking for patterns. Through out this project we studied different codes and had to apply pieces to other codes. To do that I really had to focus on the pattern of each code. Each piece was a part of a puzzle and remembering which go in which code made it easier to develop a final piece. I had trouble in the beginning and couldn't figure out what went with what, but the more patterns I found the easier it got to complete.
During this project I struggled a lot. As I had never done coding before I was really frustrated and confused with what we were doing. I stuck with it and found that communicating with others can affect the success of my codes. I would try it on my own and completely fail, but as time went on I got better and better. I was able to make my final product with only a few dilemmas. I think over the course of this project I progressively got better and better at Star Logo, however I would not consider myself an expert at it.
